| Description: | The assay measured the rate of CO2 hydration by determining the addition rate of a NaOH solution using a Radiometer VIT 90 titration system. The enzyme activity is proportional to the volume of NaOH solution required to maintain the pH of the reaction mixture at a predetermined value. IC50 is the inhibitor concentration resulting in 50% inhibition of the enzyme activity, was obtained from the plot of the net rate (slope) increase of NaOH addition against log inhibitor concentration. |
