| Description: | Initial rates of 4-nitrophenyl acetate hydrolysis catalyzed by different CA isozymes were monitored spectrophotometrically at 400 nm. A molar absorption coefficient of 18400 M-1 cm-1 was used for the 4-nitrophenolate formed by hydrolysis. Ki values were obtained from Easson-Stedman plots using a linear regression program, from at least three different assays. Standard errors were of 5-10%. |
