| Description: | Purified 5-LO was added to reaction mix containing the test compounds. For efficient inhibition of 5-LO, low hydroperoxide levels are important. Glutathione (GSH) and bovine glutathione peroxidase-1 were included in the assay. The reaction was started by the addition of AA and CaCl2. After incubation, reaction was stopped with 1 ml of methanol, and formed 5-LO metabolites were extracted and analyzed by HPLC. |
