| Description: | Inhibition of xanthine oxidase (XO) by each isolated phenolics was measured by following the decrease in the uric acid formation at 293nm at 25°C. The reaction mixture contained 50mM potassium phosphate buffer (pH 7.6), 75µM xanthine, and 0.08 units of xanthine oxidase. The enzyme was preincubated with test compound, dissolved in DMSO (1% v/v), for 5 min and the reaction was initiated by the addition of xanthine. |
