| Description: | A standard fluorimetric assay was used to measure influenza virus neuraminidase activity. The substrate 2 -(4-methylumbelliferyl)-alpha-D-acetylneuraminic acid is cleaved by neuraminidase to yield a fluorescent product that can be quantified. Fluorescence was read using an Aminco-Bowman fluorescence spectrophotometer (excitation, 360 nm; emission, 450 nm). The IC50 was calculated by plotting percent inhibition versus the inhibitor concentration, and each point was performed in duplicate. |
